This is the full view of how big his cast is. It has soccer balls on it, it couldn't be a cooler cast for him. People at school have asked him if he drew those soccer balls onto the cast. Nope, it really came like that. 4weeks down and 2 more weeks left. I think his arm is going to look so skinny and dry when that comes off.

Broken arm

On Jan 6th we went into the Dr. to have a smaller cast put on Brayden. He had the longer cast on for 2 weeks so he was able to get a smaller one put on so.... This is his smaller blue cast that he had on for 12 hrs. Once they had put this on they did a X -ray to make sure everthing was growing together ok but once they looked at the x- ray they could tell it was not growing together the way it should have been.

They scheduled us an appt. for the next morning at 6 a.m. to come to Mckay Dee for surgery. They re -broke his bone and drilled 2 pins into the wrist bone so it would grow back like it should. He was loving these socks!
He was a little worried to be put asleep, he was afraid of not waking up after but he did awesome and was so tough during the whole thing. We were there at the hospital for about 5 hrs total. I have went this long without ever having a child get hurt so this was a very scary thing for me too.I didn't like seeing my boy in pain.

When we had arrived home from the hospital there was this card left in the door. One of his teachers had the class make it and everyone signed it for him. He has some really nice friends and so many family members came by and brought him balloons, gatorade, fruit, chocolate and get well cards. The top picture is him holding a gift card to Blockbuster and some popcorn that a friend(neighbor) brought over. She said to Brayden " I just poped on over to wish you a speedy recovery" Very cute! Thanks to everyone that was so nice to him.

Happy 14th Birthday Brayden!

Brayden woke up and got ready for school then opened a few presents before he left. A couple friends stopped by to give Brayden a birthday gift.

We then let Brayden pick where he would like to eat dinner and he picked Chilis. It's always a favorite of the kids.

Brayden had a hard time cutting his steak because of his cast so Curt cut his steak up for him. We have not had to do that since he was 4. HAha.

This is the yummy dessert that he got at dinner. Brayden had a combined birthday party with my dad on Sunday which was nice of the family to come over, then today my friend Sheila took him balloons to his school, Jake and Madi decorated his bedroom and he had lots of phone calls made to him. Overall I think he had a wonderful day. I can not believe I am a mom to a 14 year old. wOW time flies by. I love you very much Brayden and am so proud of what a handsome young man you have become.

Happy Birthday to me

Can I just say I have the best family and friends! I slept in til 11 yesterday and I woke up to having French toast and sausage being made for me, then we went to church and Brayden spoke in sacrament which he did such a great job. Then after church my great friend Sheila had my family over for a wonderful dinner. After dinner we came back to my house where my family was waiting for me to have cake and icecream. I have such a great family and I love hanging out with them as often as we do. I guess we all know how old I am? I really am having a hard time each year after 30. I feel like I am so old.WOW how time and the years just fly by!

The kids enjoying all the yummy goodies.

Christmas parties

I was terrible at taking pictures this week. I had my video camera out so I forgot about the camera. We had my dad and step mom and my siblings over on Christmas Eve day for a brunch and to exchange gifts and just celebrate Christmas together. Then that night we had our Annual Jones Christmas Eve party at Alleson's. Santa always stops by for a visit and brings a present to the kids. Then on Christmas day we spent the morning visiting with Curt's dad and step mom then at 1:00 we headed over to celebrate Christmas with my grandparents at my uncles home. After that we went to my moms to exchange gifts with her and Gregg. What a fun holiday, lots and lots of family to spend time with and everyone was spoiled. The Kelson Christmas party that was held on the 19th of Dec.

Braydens broken arm

On Dec. 18th Brayden talked me into letting him use his Christmas present early. I had rented him a snowboard for the season and his dad had bought a season ski pass. Brayden really wanted to use it on Friday because he wanted to go snowboard with Skyler before Skyler left out of town for the holiday break. Well he was at Wolf Mtn for about three hrs before he took a bad fall and came down and broke the bone right above his wrist, on his right arm. With all the sports Brayden has played I guess I should be grateful he has not broke something before now. I got my money back on the snowboard and bought different gifts for christmas and Wolf Mtn was kind enough to say that the pass can be used for next year instead. I also had to get my $50 back that I had just paid for him to play basketball. We will have alot less to do in our lifes for the next little bit while he recovers. This is the soft cast they put him in for a few days while they waited for the swelling to go down. He will have this green cast on for a total of 2 weeks then they will put a shorter one on for another 3 weeks.

Proud wife!

Ok so this is old news and all my Face book friends already know this BUT... Curt was given the award for "Officer of the Year" at his Christmas work party this year. I am so proud of him. He had no idea that he would be getting this award and the surprised look on his face when they called his name was priceless. This was a picture I took of him as we were leaving the party. Curt always works so hard to support our family and really loves his job so I was so excited for him that they acknowledged his hard work.
